The Battle of the Pelennor Fields was a Massacre

I was fortunate enough to join the guys from Cardboard of the Rings on Twitch for an epic game of The Battle of the Pelennor Fields. I brought one of my favorite support decks which features Beorn, Bifur and Mablung. This quest is brutally difficult and Minas Tirith ultimately fell to the armies of Sauron – but not before Beorn slew a War Mûmak with his own two paws. Despite the defeat, I had an absolute blast playing with everyone. We’ll try again next week, hopefully with more success.

I like that they made that quest fairly different than HD. For example, here you must do something more than wait 8 rounds to win. There is also a different focus on enemies: where in HD you got big numbers of heavy hitters, in PF you get enormous numbers of reasonable hitters. I, however, cannot explain why throwing some heads over a wall is considered Sorcery.

Yes, Pelennor Fields is an interesting quest. In a four player game, the allies that you put into the middle for stage 2 can make a huge difference – unfortunately for us we got a bunch of small/support allies. I am going to build a new deck for next week, so I will be thinking about how to counter more of the encounter deck’s challenges. I probably need treachery cancelation for those “sorceries”.

Hi Beorn, I watched your game with cardboard of the rings and want ask, where I can watch your next try. Cant find the video yet.
Thanks for your help. Cant anticipate the pleasure to see it 😉
