After seeing the new Bombur hero from the upcoming second Hobbit expansion, and with inspiration from Ian of Tales from the Cards, I have decided to build this very silly deck. With attachments like Cram, Miruvor, and Good Meal, along with events like Second Breakfast, the game now has some cards that really capture the sense of fun, and enjoyment of life, that is found throughout Tolkien’s books. This deck is an attempt to distill those concepts into a, hopefully, cohesive whole.
So think of this deck not in terms of its power (or lack thereof), but more as a fun diversion that relishes some of the thematic aspects of the game. If Elrond and Dain decks are the main courses on your Lord of the Rings menu, this deck is more of an appetizer, or perhaps a dessert. So, bon Appétit!
Good Meal x2
Fast Hitch x1 (For Hobbits only, because Bombur would need at least 4 to hold him)
A Burning Brand x2 (Crème brûlée Torch)
Self Preservation x2 (Mmmm… strawberry preserves… fattening)
Narvi’s Belt x2 (Gloin should be prepared to loosen this after Second Breakfast)
We Are Not Idle x3 (Nope, they’re busy in the kitchen)
A Very Good Tale x3 (Told around a table, stacked with food)
Second Breakfast x2 (I was going to have 3, but even a bear can’t eat that much!)
Peace and Thought x2 (In other words, food coma)
O, Elbereth! Gilthonial! x2 (In Sindarin, roughly, “Oh, my stomach! Too much Lembas!”)
The Galadhrim’s Greeting x3 (The blindfolding was to hide the best food for themselves)
